Devised as a simplified skin oil for my face, I now keep this oil handy in my purse and in the house first aid for all kinds of issues involving fussy skin–especially spider bites, chigger bites, etc. I do not apply it on or near open wounds, though others seem to do so. Clients also have used it to spot treat blemishes and for a whole host of other skin issues–human and otherwise.
What you get is a simple combination of hazelnut oil and a generous helping of helichrysum essential oil in a 5mL glass roller bottle with metal roller.
I chose these ingredients because I was searching for a powerhouse for my face, which I had ignored for years as I raised young children. It was hard to find hazelnut oil in just about anything, and helichrysum oil is crazy expensive, so most skincare products containing helichrysum contain a tiny amount of it and still cost $100+!
What makes them powerhouses for the skin?
A wonderful astringent oil for skin care preparations, hazelnut oil is ideal for oily or combination skin formulas. It absorbs into the skin quickly, and should not leave an oily residue. It is often used as a carrier oil for massage oils blends and essential oil dilutions.
Helichrysum Essential Oil
Helichrysum essential oil contains special properties that make it an antioxidant, an antibacterial, an antifungal and an anti-inflammatory. As such, it can be used in dozens of different ways to boost health and ward off disease. Some of its most popular uses are for treating wounds, infections, digestive problems, supporting the nervous system and heart health, and healing respiratory conditions.
