Getting Grounded for Good

For most of us, grounding is beneficial because it keeps us calm when we could get overwhelmed.

It is a means of centering oneself, making sure we do not get caught-up too much in our heads, etc.  It is  a reminder that we are in physical bodies on Earth.  We even need to be grounded in order to work effectively with Spirit.

I use both simple “mental” exercises and gemstones to ground myself quickly and easily.

Of the Earth

I’ve long been drawn to stones, and healing gemstones are of such gentle energy that they seem to complement homeopathy quite well.  Just make sure you clear your gemstones of negative energy regularly.  To cleanse my crystals and stones, I put the gemstones I’ve used each day in a bowl of salt overnight, then change out the salt every couple of weeks.  I also do this with newly purchased crystals, just incase.

My favorite gemstones for grounding and protection are pyrite, black onyx, and amber [technically, amber is fossilized tree resin, not a gemstone].  I also really like Healer’s Gold a lot, and hematite is a common favorite.  [A bowl of tumbled hematite even can be used to clear other gemstones!]

It is easiest to wear these as jewelry–necklaces, bracelets, etc.  In certain circumstances, I also use individual gemstone pieces for grounding by tucking them into a pocket or waistband to bring the energy further out of my head [I can be in my head a lot].  I mentioned this to a gemstone expert once, and she said that actually black onyx is best as a belt [I haven’t found any onyx belts, but I bet you could make one].

Watch Your Step

A quick and easy way to remain grounded is to pay attention to your footsteps.  I had an energy therapist at one point who said the permanency of her work depended heavily on whether clients paid attention to their footsteps for several days after appointments.  She  also suggested imagining that you are walking barefoot on grass or at the beach or imagining that your feet are connected to the earth through the flooring because eventually all is connected to the earth.

Protect & Ground

The same energy therapist recommended  imagining a ray of light that came from Heaven, entering through the crown chakra, running down the spine through the tailbone, and connecting us to the earth.

You can protect yourself and ground yourself pretty easily and quickly in one exercise incorporating that idea:  Ideally, you’d do it morning and night.

Imagine yourself protected in a shield of white light.  I say a prayer, thanking God for protecting me in the white light of his love and protection.  I visualize myself being protected in white light while I am praying.

Then I ask that all negativity and dark energy be removed from my being, transmuted in His white light, and returned to me so that I am infused with His white light of love and protection.

Next I thank God for shielding me from all negativity and dark energy, and I visualize His white light shielding me thusly.

Finally, I ground myself by imagining my feet and tailbone connected to the earth.  For my daughter, she prefers to think of herself like a banyan tree, with her feet and tailbone rooted to the earth.

I do this process for my whole family, morning and night.  Sometimes I do an abbreviated version, sometimes more thorough.

Exercise it carefully! A lesson in free will

I had a quick lesson in free will this morning that so concisely represents the human spiritual experience.

As I backed into the driveway from my garage en route to school on this rainy day, my daughter noticed that one of the cats had run out–he must’ve been in the garage and run out when he was frightened by the door and car.  With a lot of coyotes around here, we try to keep him indoors when we’re not around to let him in quickly.

So, I parked the car and prepared to get the cat back inside.  I immediately felt I should take my keys with me.  I decided against it and continued my efforts to get out of the car [seatbelt, jacket, etc.].  Again I felt I should take my keys with me.  It probably happened 3 times.  So I took some time to figure out why I would need my keys — pro’s and con’s.  All very reasonable and logical and sound.  I decided against the keys, of course.  Otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this post!

Spoiler alert:  That was my free will, deciding to leave the keys on account of reasoning.  Listening to my intuition [or Spirit, more specifically] would’ve been following that unreasonable but persistent sense that I should take the keys.

I left the car running, got out and pursued the cat.  Kissy sounds, sweet kitty calls, and all of it.  He just kept walking further down our walk.  Well, wouldn’t you know, he walked right up to the front door and waited for me.  But could I let him in the front door?  No I could not.  And why not?  Because I had left my keys in the car!

So I picked him up, and he was okay … until he heard the sound of the car, which of course, I had left running with the keys in it.  He started freaking out, scratching me, scratching my coat [I was sure it would rip!].  It was quite the tussle from there to get him in the house.

I had been forewarned and I overrode it with free will.

This is a tiny, tightly packaged lesson in free will.  Every single time that we exercise free will to turn away from a higher choice, it is because of fear.*  Today, I chose to leave the keys because I was worried my youngest would freak out about the DVD player if I turned off the car.  Yes, you read that correctly.  It might seem ridiculously understandable, ridiculously ridiculous, or just plain funny, but so it is.  That is what I did.  And in so doing, I exercised free will to choose against Spirit’s guidance, and look where it got me!

We do this every day in big and small ways–exercise our free will to override the advice of Spirit.  Spirit is always trying to help us lead our best lives.  If only we would listen every time.

*I want to add a post-script about fear, because I do believe in the Gift of Fear.  This is a good chance to parse all of that out:  What is intuition / the voice of Spirit, what is fear / the voice of Spirit, and what is fear / blocking intuition?  I am not an expert, but this is what I understand and is consistent with my experiences:

Both fear and intuition that are representative of the voice of Spirit tend to be inexplicable.  You cannot reason your way into it, it just is.  You just have a feeling, a thought that pops into your head, etc.  You could read more on it in Gavin DeBecker’s The Gift of Fear, and I’ve heard Michael Neill talk about it on Hay House Radio.  Cynthia Slon also has explained to me that all worry essentially comes from assumptions we make about the future.

Circles of Light

Circles of Light
Circles of Light

Oh my, I like circles of light.  What I describe as Circles of Light are exchanges of joy and, essentially, love.  I actually use the word, “love” exceedingly sparingly.  But I know that when we act in God’s interest, we serve Him in love.  Love, from which all form is created and to which all form shall return.  To me, love is light, and light is love.

When we share something in love–a smile, a hope, a help–we start a circle of light.

Sometimes circles of light are tight–you offer in love and light, and love and light comes back to you.  You open the door for someone, you receive a smile of gratitude and joy in return.  Circle of light.

Some circles of light are bigger, and some are downright grand.

Healing, in any shape or form, joins circles of light–small, large, but most of all plentiful.

Homeopathic Remedies Deliver Unconditional Love

In our efforts to bring full and complete healing to our daughter, we are working with Cynthia Slon, an amazing telepathic intermediary.  She is helping us apply unconditional love to further our daughter’s healing.  As part of that work, Cynthia told us that Spirit recommended that we watch an interview with Anita Moorjani, who had a near-death experience while in a coma.

While Ms. Moorjani was outside her body, she experienced unconditional love and understood that the reason for her physical pain and disease was that she had lived a life of fear.  Although she enjoyed being free of pain and discomfort in the other dimension, she also came to understand that if she returned to her body embracing the unconditional love that she’d felt on the other side, she would be fully healed very quickly.  As you might imagine, she did choose life, and she did heal completely and quickly, and now she shares her message of unconditional love with the world.

It got me thinking …

I had been noodling on why homeopathy helped my daughter so much more than the many other modalities we’ve tried, and I had decided that even though she typically receives her doses as seldom as once a month, the vibration of the remedy stays with her and she can continuously access it.

UnconditionalLoveIs Photo

Then I listened to Anita Moorjani and Cynthia Slon, and I began to wonder … perhaps homeopathic remedies are effective because they deliver the unconditional love that is the essence of the vital force of the elements of Creation offered in the homeopathic remedies?  I posited this to Cynthia, and she gave me this nugget of wisdom:

Unconditional love is the highest, most expansive vibration capable of creating matter.

I had to write it on my hand so that I could read and re-read it to absorb it!

And here is my thought process … Isn’t God the source of unconditional love?  And Creation is an expression of His love, including His creation of humans.  So all of us are embodiments of unconditional love.  We simply need to let it flow.  The same is true of the stars, the minerals, the fish, the flowers, the insects, and every other expression of vital force … mother’s milk, water, sunlight, moonlight …

When Creation offers itself to a homeopathic remedy, perhaps it offers that vibration to be used as a means of unlocking unconditional love, of letting it flow so that it can create, bridge, restore, heal.

That’s such a beautiful thought, I feel like I need to include a break here to absorb it and let you do the same!

Then I tried re-routing the line of thinking … What is unconditional love?  God is unconditional love.  It is the Source of Creation.  And the Source is energy, which underlies all matter.  So if unconditional love is this pure energy, perhaps that is what gets distilled into homeopathic remedies.

And that brings me back to Cynthia’s statement:  Unconditional love is the highest, most expansive vibration capable of creating matter.

Like Maya Angelou, so touched by knowing that God loves her, I am overcome with gratitude that Creation would give to us so generously, so that we might heal.  Imagine the generosity, the Grace.

Amazingly, the very afternoon that I began thinking about this, I received what I took as confirmation.

I really enjoy Oprah and her Super Soul Sunday show.  She recently interviewed India Arie, an interview which I thoroughly enjoyed.  I don’t even remember why, exactly, but I felt connected to Ms. Arie, like we had a lot in common and could sit and chat for hours … even though she’s a musician and I’m a homeopath!  Perhaps the way she feels about her music is how I feel about homeopathy … butI digress.

Oprah invited Ms. Arie back to Super Soul Sunday for a second show, and a quote from that show appeared on the OWN Facebook feed:  “Love is the most powerful energy in the universe.”

No wonder homeopathy is so powerful–homeopaths [generally] meet a person where they are, without judgment.  This is a place of unconditional love.  Then the remedy is given, embodying and delivering unconditional love for the unburdening of the receiving person, animal, or plant.

That is one beautiful process, and I am honored to be a part of it.

But my thought process on this is still going … so I’d be glad to hear your thoughts on the matter too!
